Bio
I have been part of The Wold since 2000. I love being apart of The Wold Pre-Primary School. Since starting work at The Wold in 2000, the children under my care have inspired me to further my studies.
Since 2002 I’ve completed the following courses:
2002 Basic child-care course,
2006 Creche and a care-giver course,
2007 Basic child-care course
2012 Level 4 (Pre-school course)
2014 Level 5 (Higher Certificate)
I continue to learn each day from the children I care for. The children have diverse backgrounds, families, cultures and religions. They inspire me and I inspire them. I love working with children and am very much a people’s person who enjoys nurturing relationships with both my colleagues and parents.

Bio
Over the past 6 years The Wold Preschool has become like a second home for me.
I love my job and being around the kids and the wonderful, caring and supportive
colleagues that I work with. We are all a family here.
I take pride in what I do and have formed many lasting relationships with parents and their
kids.
It is a privilege for me to be part of such a caring, professional environment such as we have at The Wold Preschool.

“Teachers who inspire know that teaching is like cultivating a garden and those who would have nothing to do with thorns must never attempt to gather flowers.”

This is a quote that stands for everything that guides and shapes me in my profession. Teaching and caring for children has always been a great passion of mine. I have been teaching and caring for children for well over 17 years, 12 rewarding and fulfilling years. I am aware of all challenges that come with this job and the great responsibility that is needed. These challenges however have never stood as an obstacle for me as child care is not a job, but a love that I have. I am able to deal with all situations by being a patient, caring and nurturing person. I uphold strong principles of reliability and honesty, which is of great importance when being entrusted by parents to care for their children. This, along with all my experience has allowed me to develop both personally and professionally. I always seek to create a safe, friendly and secure environment. I have a great understanding of child development and the ability to interact with children in a manner specific to their differing personalities and needs. Caring for children is something that comes naturally to me, something I value greatly and put a great effort into as it has been my most rewarding experience. Forming relationships and interacting with children of different personalities is something I cherish. Yes, there can be many ‘thorns,’ but at the end of the day, gathering the ‘flowers,’ is what makes my life special.
